چکیده

Background: Respiratory tract infections (RTI) form a major part of common ailments encountered by general physicians hailing from developing country. Antibiotics are used for treating any infection but inappropriate use antibiotics lead to development multidrug resistance (MDR). This study was performed analyze the comparative in-vitro activity Cefixime and Tetracyclines antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST) against pathogens isolated respiratory samples.
Materials Methods: We prospective in Bacteriology section Department Microbiology at teaching hospital Northern India Jan 2022 June 2022. Cefixime, Doxycycline, Minocycline were tested 100 Gram-negative bacteria samples. The each isolates Kirby Bauer Disc Diffusion method, according CLSI, 2019 guidelines.
Results: Our cohort included Gram negative with majority them obtained Endotracheal aspirate samples (43, 43%) followed Sputum (37, 37%) most microorganism this drug Klebsiella pneumoniae (39, 39%) Escherichia coli (33, 33%). identified as all 12.12% (4/33, 12.12%) susceptible three drugs. On overall analysis Doxycycline better than among inducible Enterobacteriaceae non-fermenter isolate.
